external HDD possible?

Would it be possible to use an external HDD with the OS files stored on it? Is this not a problem for the licensing of the REXcontrols software?

This would be a good thing because this would probably reduce the SD card problems on the RasPi. It would also be a good place to store all the archives with the historical data on it....

Re: external HDD possible?

Licence key contains identifier of SD card, however it is possible now to reactivate the licence using your account  (e.g. in case of SD card damage or creating backup).

Re: external HDD possible?

To answer my own question : yes it is possible. REXcontrols is now running on a WD PiDrive 314GB. The SD card is now only used during the boot sequence, the card contains an installation of the BerryBoot bootloader.
