Cannot connect to RexWSTcp websocket server with Inkscape

I just made a new HMI display in Inkscape and the first attempt to connect to RexWSTcp was ok, but when I tried a second time I got this error message in Inkscape :

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\REX Controls\Inkscape RexHMI\share\extensions\rex_ext\elementEditor\hmicEditGui.py", line 122, in connect

    self.wsc.connect()

  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\REX Controls\Inkscape RexHMI\python\lib\site-packages\ws4py\client\__init__.py", line 209, in connect

    self.sock.connect(self.bind_addr)

  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\REX Controls\Inkscape RexHMI\python\Lib\socket.py", line 222, in meth

    return getattr(self._sock,name)(*args)

socket.gaierror: [Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed

When I take another Inkscape HMI page then I can connect although the settings are exactly the same. Even if I copy the content of the faulty page onto a new one I can reconnect again and assign the signals to the objects. But again, connecting for a second time is not possible.

Re: Cannot connect to RexWSTcp websocket server with Inkscape

Please provide complete information:

  • What Windows version are you using?

  • Where is the RexWsTcp server running? Raspberry Pi? What distribution are you using (Wheezy or Jessie)?

  • Upload here the faulty SVG file.

Upload here the faulty SVG file.

At the moment I cannot repeat the error again but I believe it was caused by an illegal connection I configured in the Rex HMI configuration....although I'm not sure.

But after restarting my notebook I have no more problems...just restarting the RasPi didn't solve the problem

If I have the same problem again I'll come back to this post...
