ASCII

I have a measurement system that I want to include in my REX HMI for a small process. The device will spit out the dimensions of the part in ASCII. Is there a way to configure something in REX to take that ASCII and display it in the Inkscape HMI, similar to how the Pool Automation example displays the water temp.

Re: ASCII

Hello,

in general it is possible, however there are some limitations. Current stable version of REX Control System doesn't support strings. If the dimensions you are about to receive from some other device are just numbers it is possible to parse the ASCII and process it in REXLANG and display in  RexHMI. Is it your case?

Strings will be fully supported in new release which should be soon available.

Re: ASCII

Which communication do you want to use? RS-232? Or any other? What device do you want to connect?
