However, you can integrate Node Red and Rex together with UDP communication. See simple example on how to communicate within two Rex targets using UDP stored in .\REX_2_10_X_XXXX_x86\EXAMPLES\EXTERNAL_DEVICES\UDP\Generic_Sender_Receiver

You can modify it and use it to communicate between Node Red and Rex on the same device.
