Modbus device Dali 4Net

Hello Ainars,

in general it is possible to control Dali network using REXYGEN and Modbus TCP communication.
You can use some of our Modbus TCP examples https://github.com/rexcontrols/REXexamp … Modbus_TCP and modify it according to DALI 4Net registers.

Hi Hendrik,
in REX (and also in Modbus specification), all the areas are numbered separately. Therefore "register 30001" in 3rd party software or device is equal to "InReg, address 0" in REX. Similarly, "register 40001" equals to "Register (16bit), address 0".

thanks for the screenshots. On Windows you need to use the following in your .rio file:

Connection "DRIVER=MySQL ODBC 5.3 Unicode Driver;SERVER=127.0.0.1;...

Your setting DRIVER=MySQL is valid only for Linux systems.

My original reply was not stating this clearly. Hope this helps.

Hi Hubert,
it's always the string after the two underscores, which is important for the I/O driver. If you name your block DB__someBlock10, then you should use in .rio file "DB__someBlock10, i3, i4, ..., i9). In fact, the 7 remaining signals can be named arbitrarily, they just need to correspond with a column in the database table).

All the remaining blocks (constants, generators, etc.) can be named arbitrarily (though it's highly recommended to keep the block type part of the name).

As for data types, you are right, the 'i' is related to integer numbers (type long).

The column in the database table can be of type FLOAT, the value will be converted automatically on write from double to float (you might loose some precision, of course).

More then one LOGO-8 connection

thanks for the update. S7 Server is meant mainly for using REX with Siemens HMI panels so it is not relevant for logging data from LOGOs. Still I'd like to have the configuration which crashes RexCore. Can you please send it to support@rexcontrols.com?

It seems that on the contrary to 0BA8 the network connection must be activated on the 0BA7 somehow but I cannot tell you more unless I have the 0BA7 here. I'll post here an update if I have some new information.

The Items line in the .rio file defines intervals. It is not a list. "Items 50,60" thus means all IDs from 50 to 60 and 51 and 52 fall into this interval. The same holds for the temperature archive. See page 10 of https://www.rexcontrols.com/media/DOC/E … rv_ENG.pdf

Modbus TCP PLC2011B1 integration with REX

Hi hendrik,
logfile attached in your previous post indicate that data are read by PLC011B1 from REX (ModbusTCP slave), but no value is set so PLC get value 0. You must set coil value by GOTO block or OCTOUT block. REX not map UniPi coil on MODBUS coil directly.
Concerning socket close error message: I am not sure why it is happend, but It seems PLC011B1 close socket after each request.

Thanks for mentioning this. Yes it is a bit confusing. We are aware of that and it will be unified in future versions. At the moment this is a feature, not a bug.

No they are not. This is an internal feature which is not fully implemented yet. Please ignore this column.
